To serve the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area by developing servant
leadership in the Spirit of Christ with special emphasis on ministry to
the poor. Our specific strategy is to recruit, train, and mobilize
Interns and Volunteers from across the country and around the world with
a working knowledge, attitude and hands-on skills for relational, urban
ministry targeting youth and children. By building bridges of
reconciliation between various ethnic, geographic and socio-economic
groups we will attempt to network resources with the needs of the
underserved.
Specific Goals and Activities for 2005:
1. Networking people to serve the poor. Helping urban and suburban
people build relationships and grow in Christ. The Reconciliation
Luncheons, Leadership Prayer Breakfasts, and community projects are
connecting venues.
2. Be available wherever God leads, to help people toward
reconciliation. This will be done through individual meetings, small
group encounters, retreats, student leadership gatherings and leadership
conferences hosted by like-minded groups throughout the U.S. and around
the world.
3. To help organize and facilitate work groups serving the D.C.
Metropolitan Area through the Southeast White House.
4. Assist churches and Para church groups to realize ministry
opportunities relating to the poor and underprivileged in the Spirit of
Christ.
5. Recruit, train and oversee young adult Interns at the Southeast White
House in order to provide: personal growth, spiritual maturity, and
education in urban relations and ministry.
6. To help coordinate the work of the Southeast White House. To assist
with organizing and facilitating work groups and hosting
responsibilities in conjunction with the Interns.
