The Southeast White House, is located
2 ˝ miles from the capitol in southeast Washington, DC.
It is affectionately known in the community as the “Little White House” due to its distinctive architecture and its location four miles east of the “real” White House on Pennsylvania Avenue.

It is situated in an area that is often referred to as the “forgotten quadrant” of the city due to the limited number of social services and forms of assistance available to the community.

A major emphasis at the Southeast White House is placed on peoples’ relationships with God and with one another. It serves as a place of reconciliation: an environment where urban and suburban, rich and poor, black and white, and young and old come together in friendship. The Southeast White House seeks to build up local churches, non-profits, and other community groups serving the Washington, DC, area and strives to make every person who comes through its doors feel that they are a friend held in high regard.

In the Spirit of Christ the Southeast White House serves as:

  • A place for reconciliation for all the divides the city and the city from the rest of the world.

  • A refuge and resource center serving the needs of the surrounding communities of Southeast DC.

  • A base for mentoring programs, community projects and other forms of support to the local youth.

  • A gathering place for individuals and groups working with the poor and disenfranchised.

  • A training ground for those seeking a greater exposure to urban issues.
